A photographic series of symbolic self-portraits reflecting my own overwhelming emotions. Different emotions such as solitude, isolation, loss of sense-of-self, and escapism are represented as symbolic graphics or objects within a blank and empty room. By creating visual embodiments of the various emotions I was struggling with and placing them in isolated spaces.

When we visit the place you have never been as a stranger, how do you feel that place?
Exploring stereotypes of the country, strange places, strange people. Here is one of the countries that have stereotypes.
Think about the stereotypes, being a stranger, being friends, and the emotional conversation in isolated strange space only activated by human being. To exploring those things, I photographed people’s story during the Siberian railroad train for 7nights and 8days. From Vladivostok, Far east of Asia, to Moscow, the entrance of Europe.
The project “Siberian Railway” is a photographic series in limited spaces, recording stereotypes of the country, strange places and strange people, and exploring the function of heterotopia. I photographed people’s story during the Siberian railroad journey and in the train for 7nights and 8days.

This project “Virtual City” is a recreated psychological space which is connected with memory and experiences in our lives. I capture imaginary images from reality. We can create new events in our dreams like as unconscious memory. I applied the same method to my project to create virtual or imaginary spaces. I use the places related common places. I would like to provide opportunities for viewers to think and imagine things based on their own space. The space is not reality, but it is recreated from reality.
